Head Start is a federal program that promotes the school readiness of children ages birth to five from low-income families by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
In the heart of Shreveport, Louisiana, the Caddo Parish Commission Head Start Program grantee is the Caddo Parish Commission (CPC). Caddo Community Action Agency, Inc, (CCAA) is the delegate agency responsible for operating the CPC Head Start Program.
The CPC Head Start Program has been in operation for over fifty years and has helped tens of thousands of pre-school children transition into kindergarten. The program operates eleven Head Start centers, one Early Head Start (EHS) center, and two EHS classrooms at Arc Caddo-Bossier.
Our Head Start Program enrolls students all year long. Now is always a good time to start the application process.
During the months March through August is the key recruitment period for the upcoming school year.

Complete an Enrollment Application Online or Contact a Family Service Advocate at your nearest Head Start Center.
The Online Application for our Head Start Program is for first-time child(ren) applicants within a family.
The Online Application process can take between 20 to 30 minutes to fully complete. Not counting the time it will take you to gather and upload required documents.
1. Completing Part I of the Online application
When you start Part I of the Online application process, you will have to provide all demographic, enrollment, and family information in one session. You will not be able to save and come back to it at a later time.
Uploading documents is the only portion of Part I where you will have the ability to complete at a later time or date.
After you complete Part I of the Online application process, you will receive an email that will allow you to complete uploading documents if you were unable to get them all uploaded during the initial session.
Email Address is a required field on the Online application. Therefore, please provide an email address that you check regularly. Your email will also be used as a means of communication with the Head Start program.

2. Completing Part II of the Online application
The Online application in Part I is provided by our Student Management System ChildPlus. However, additional information is needed to complete the application process. This next session will take approximately 4 to 6 minutes to complete.
